DANfusion is hosting a study trip for master's students, PhD students, and postdocs at the DANfusion universities to visit Wendelstein 7-X.
We will have a 5-6 hour visit at IPP Greifswald, where we will get close to the world’s largest stellarator, Wendelstein 7-X, and we will hear about the research in physics and technology at IPP. This is an excellent opportunity to visit a leading international fusion research facility and to build connections between students and young researchers in the Danish fusion research area.
Date: The date of the event is Monday 30th to Tuesday 31st of March (first two days of the Easter week).
Time of day: Departure in the morning/lunch time on Monday, and arrival back in the evening of the Tuesday (precise times depends on which area of Denmark you live in).
Transportation: We will go by bus from Denmark (several pick-up points: Aalborg, Aarhus, Odense, and Ølby) and go by ferry to Germany and return similarly.
Accommodation: DANfusion will book rooms in a hotel conveniently close to IPP Greifswald.
Food: We will have snacks and sandwiches in the bus in both directions, and we will eat dinner together in a restaurant in Greifswald on Monday evening.
Cost: DANfusion covers the primary costs, but if you are selected and register, you have to pay 250 DKK, which covers the snacks and sandwiches in the bus. You should also expect to pay the dinner in Greifswald.
Application process: There is a limited number of seats, so please apply using the link or the QR code below as soon as possible and no later than March 8th 23:59. After the deadline we select the participants based on the motivated application and a distribution among the four universities. After receiving confirmation of participation, it is important to register via the link we will supply.
